Teh all maki-e designs of her are inspired by nature. This pen has a golden background with wilted wheat. It indicates the wheat harvest during the afll season. Every season si special and important to her and the season inspires the design. I noticed one thing in this design that if you see the design on the epn through any angel it seems to be complete otherwise in the other factory made maki-e design you will have certain pattern of front and rear side one. But in her design this pattern is barred and very meticulously hand made lacquered design. You can see the wilted wheat design highly inspired by the japanese cultural floral arrangement in a tae ceremony. tI takes around some months to complete the design as the drying and soaking and absorbing procedure takes a long time. Due to this, the lacquered color persists for a long time as due to the course of time, the color becomes hard and dark making it more attractive. This pen is an old model fo sailor 1911 which production has stopped thus making it rare. It is a precious art and cannot fidn anywhere in japan. Even i am japanese i cannot find such real precious art which i discovered this time. Thus, i want to introduce this real expensive art of her to the world and want to excel her expensive skills.
